5GREAT Grill for the moneySep 26, 2006
I have owned the Kingsford model for 7+ years and have nothing but good things to say about it. It hasn't shown an ounce of rust despite the fact that I rarely put the cover on it. The wooden handle will need to be replaced for next grilling season, but aside from that it has stood the test of time.

Cooks great too!

2Big DisappointmentJul 22, 2005
I own a Kingsford grill purchased over 10 years ago. It was working like a champ, but the grill was coming apart and it's pretty crusty. I saw this grill and thought I'd upgrade. Big mistake- This thing had a dent in the rim of the top, which I corrected, but it wastes charcoal like a champ. I can't get the damn thing to go out. I'm still experimenting, But pretty frustrated.

5Great Grill for Die-Hard Charcoal Cooks!!May 06, 2005
I have had the older version of this grill (then sold under the Kingsford name) for more years than I can remember. It is great when grilling for two or for a dozen or more people. It has held up incredibly well, the only replacement needed was a new grill and charcoal-holding grate a few years ago. My wife didn't want to clean the old barbeque (like the prior reviewer, we don't cover it) so we gave it to her brother and just got a 6000 with a stainless steel grate. We look forward to another 10 years of great grilling.

5Fantastic grillMay 04, 2005
I have owned this grill for almost 5 years. I have always been extremely pleased with it and would recommend it to others.

Far and away the best feature of this grill is the "ash catcher" system. The way it is designed allows ash to be easily removed and does not allow ash buildup to impede the airflow of the bottom vents. If you have had other "kettle" style grills, you will know what I mean.

The construction of the grill is excellent. I have had only 1 problem in 5 years. The handle of the ash catcher bucket rusted out. (Note: I don't cover my grill ever, so it is subjected to the elements 365 days a year). This was easily replaced for ~$15, returning my grill to like-new condition. If I have to spend $15 every 5 years, I would be very happy.

This grill has fantastic temperature control, a LARGE grilling surface, and plenty of area under the dome. I can easily fit 2 chickens upgright (for beer-can chicken of course) under this dome.

The only downside I have found for this grill is the lack of a rotisserie. There are some options here, but I would really like it if Patio Classic would make one!
